English: THE MAGNETIC FIELD LINES SHOULD BE IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION GIVEN THE DIRECTION OF CURRENT DRAWN HERE. This image shows the magnetic fields (in 2D) inside a magnetic bottle. Each end consists of a dense magnetic field which charge particles can be reflected from. Particles corkscrew along these magnetic field lines, are internally reflected and trapped. They can escape if they come it at certain angles to the magnetic field. |
