&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;Nuclear transparency&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; is the ratio of cross-sections for exclusive processes from the [[Atomic nucleus|nuclei]] to those of the [[nucleons]].&lt;br /&gt;

If the nuclear cross-section is denoted as &amp;lt;math&amp;gt;\sigma_N&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt; and free nucleon cross-section as &amp;lt;math&amp;gt;\sigma_0&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
then nuclear transparency can be defined as &amp;lt;br /&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&amp;lt;math&amp;gt;T= \sigma_N/A\sigma_0&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt;, where &amp;lt;math&amp;gt;\sigma_N&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt; can be parameterized in terms of &amp;lt;math&amp;gt;\sigma_0&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt; as &amp;lt;math&amp;gt;\sigma_N =A^\alpha \sigma_0&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt;.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Therefore, transparency can be expressed as &amp;lt;math&amp;gt;T= A^{\alpha -1}&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt;.&amp;lt;br /&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
Here nucleon cross-section can be thought of as hydrogen cross-section and nuclei cross-section can be as for other targets.&lt;br /&gt;
