with coefficients in &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;F&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;lt;sub&amp;gt;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;p&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;lt;/sup&amp;gt;. The group multiplication is given by formal composition also called substitution. That is, if&lt;br /&gt;

&amp;lt;/math&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

Notably, the group multiplication is not [[abelian group|abelian]]. The group was studied by {{harvtxt|Johnson|1988}} and the name &amp;quot;Nottingham group&amp;quot; refers to Johnson&amp;#039;s former domicile. It is a finitely generated pro-&amp;#039;&amp;#039;p&amp;#039;&amp;#039;-group.&lt;br /&gt;
